Called and left a message regarding scheduling an appointment and I am still waiting on a call back 9 days later. I will get a referral for another doctor. Unfortunate the doctor receives bad reviews for incompetent staff.

Dr. Soape is an outstanding physician. He listens to me and wants to help improve the health of his patients. I am not a fan of most physicians due to their better than thou attitude. I trust Dr. Soape and the treatments prescribed.

First and foremost, Dr Soape has done an amazing job treating my mom and would recommend him to anyone.
My reasoning for the TWO STAR review is due to his staff (mainly AMY). I cannot tell you how many countless phone calls we attempted to reach out to her and nothing but “let me find out and get back to you “ type of responses. Her lack of professionalism, willingness to help and oath to the medical field is undoubtedly questionable. My mom has stage 4 liver disease and she's already had at least a couple of paracentesis procedures. She most recently had one about a month ago . Two weeks ago, it was determined we would transition her to Hospice Healthcare. She was going to need to have another paracentesis and a port inserted so Hospice can perform these procedures at home. During this time, AMY was supposed to have scheduled the procedure directly with Covenant. Our continuous status follow ups with AMY the last two weeks (basically since my mom has been under Soape's care) have been nothing but "I cannot get a hold of Covenant" or "Waiting to hear back from Covenant" by Amy. I (we) took it upon ourselves to drive to Lubbock to AMY's office and ask for status if appointment (this has happened previously as well ) had been scheduled. Not even 20 minutes later she provided the appointment date and time for my mom's procedure. I'm extremely angered by this because my drive to Lubbock and having to drop by the office to have AMY do her job is concerning to not only my mom but all other patients. I can't help but question if AMY handles all patients with lack of caring/follow ups or just my mom: Additionally, in the last 7 days, my mom's fluid retention has increased & moved up into her lungs. I'm most concerned about her lungs and I am holding AMY completely responsible for her lack of urgency, lack of taking ownership and communication. Our family is aware and has accepted our mom will not recover from her liver disease, but we expect AMY to step up and do her job with pride & care. I intend to have a conversation with Dr Soape and intend to file a complaint to the nurse's board about AMY. Again, Dr Soap has been amazing but I really think he needs to rebuild his staff with qualified/caring individuals as ALL LIVES MATTER! Amy, communicate, communicate, COMMUNICATE!

Soape told my elderly mother he would perform a procedure on her while she was in the hospital. My mother was not allowed to eat anything that day to prepare for the procedure. The next day Soape did not show up for the procedure nor did he send word on why he was not going through with the procedure. Never met such an unprofessional doctor.

I needed to have 3 procedures done and needed clearance from my Cardiologist. The cardiologist wanted to see me first which I did and took care of what he needed. I contacted Amy who is Dr Soapes nurse about resubmitting for clearance from cardiologist. I left her 2 voice-mail and she returned the call on day 2 saying she had gotten the clearance and we scheduled my 3 procedures. I asked how many days I would be cleared to be off the medicine and was told 5-7. This sounded strange to me as I know from the past how many days he would clear to be off blood thinners. I contacted his office and was told Amy never submitted for the clearance. They had no record. I immediately called her asking about the clearance and she said she would get it done. I asked if she had the fax number (I gave it to her in the voice mail) she rattled off some strange number and I told her no that's not correct. So basically with all of this I'm saying she lied to me about the clearance to go off my blood thinners. I feel this is a life or death matter to not be taken lightly. I dont feel comfortable putting my life into a Drs hands that his Staff acts this way and will lie to a patient about something that could potentially cause them harm.
